Science Museum

Fascinating for children and adults alike, the Science Museum boasts a broad array of interactive, engaging exhibits spanning the full range of scientific knowledge.

The museum has also led some ambitious projects, such as creating a working version of inventor Charles Babbage's Difference Engine. The precursor to all modern computers, the Engine was envisioned by Babbage in the 1800s but he was never able to create a working version due to limitations in manufacturing technology at the time. This and many other intriguing devices, both historical and futuristic, are on display in the computing gallery.

Getting there

It's a few minutes' walk from the South Kensington Underground station.
